Once some children were doing javelin in the stadium. Neeraj stood there and then the coach told him that come throw the javelin, see how far you can throw. Neeraj threw the javelin, then it fell too far. After this the coach asked him to come to regular training. For a few days, Neeraj trained at Panipat Stadium, then moved to Panchkula and started training there.
After the world record, the army appointed Neeraj to the post of Naib Subedar by giving him the post of Junior Commissioned Officer. After that Neeraj’s career picked up pace. He won gold medal in 2018 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.
