PSL 2023: Irrespective of the leagues, Carribean players are known to be the best in the T20 format. Resultantly, Carribean players are once again setting up the stage on fire with their performances in PSL 2023. During the ninth match of the league, Rovman Powell proved the saying right by smashing 36 runs off 23 balls. However, an amusing incident happened when he hit his fellow teammate for West Indies, Odean Smith, for a monstrous six.

Rovman Powell plays a quick-fire knock

His strike rate during the knock was 156.2, he hit three boundaries and two sixes in his short but match-winning inning. The special incident happened during the 12 over of the second innings. Rovman Powell and James Neesham were on the crease at that time. Chasing 155, Rovman Powell was prepared and in the mindset to make a powerful hit. On the fourth ball of the over, he smashed a powerful six. Powell took advantage of Odion Smith’s 133.5 kph delivery of this ball and struck a stunning six.

Odean Smith also hit some huge strokes with the bat, in contrast to Rovman Powell, who scored 36 runs off just 23 balls in his innings. With the help of four boundaries and a six, Odean scored 25 runs in only 12 balls. However, he was not successful in bowling, as he gave up 27 runs in just two overs.

Not just Odion, but also other Quetta bowlers plundered many runs throughout this encounter at the National Stadium in Karachi. In contrast, Naseem Shah grabbed one wicket for just 19 runs in his spell, while Muhammad Nawaz (13.71), Kais Ahmed (10.25), and Odion Smith (13.50) all handed away runs at an economy rate of more than 10. The most effective bowler on the team was Mohammad Hasnain. He picked up 3 wickets in 4 overs for just 13 runs.
