Pujara Place In Doubt: With a new World Test Championship Cycle starting from next month, India is looking to bounce back in fashion. The 2-match test series against West Indies will mark the beginning of the third World Test Championship cycle for India.
But after another loss in a major ICC final, the pressure is on BCCI to take some stern decisions and refresh the squad. And according to various reports, Pujara will be the first to go. The return of Hardik Pandya to whites is also a major discussion on the board.
Pujara’s place in doubt!
It looks like the BCCI is finally going to take some decisions that were due long ago. Various reports have stated that the first person to go from the core XI of India will be Pujara. Yashaswi Jaiswal is being considered to replace Pujara in the playing XI.
Hardik Pandya to return in Test Side
The board realized that an all-rounder like Cameron Green is really crucial for a test side. It gives you batting depth and can be a viable bowling option. And because of that, BCCI has once again gone to Hardik Pandya.
In the end, it is Hardik’s decision whether he thinks he can return to the test side or not. Given his back issue, it is still a pipe dream. But a player like him will always be beneficial to the squad.

It looks like India will go on the tour with a new pace bowling line-up. Mohammed Shami, who featured in WTC 2023 final, will be rested. Considering that the player bowled 45.3 overs in the final, the rest is necessary.
Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh are likely to feature in the tour. With Arshdeep recently debuting in County and impressing the selectors, he can also be put into the test squad.
