India’s standing captain Ajinkya Rahane, who has scored a brilliant century while taking command of the team in difficult times, has compared this century to that in Lords.
Only because of captain Rahane’s 112-run innings, India gained a strong 131 runs lead in the first innings of the current second Test and then tightened the game until the third day’s play was over.
Rahane said after the end of the day’s play, “It was special (century). It is always special to score a century. Still feel that my century against England at Lord’s was the best. ‘
Rahane made a place in the list of batsmen who scored a century at Lord’s by playing an innings of 103 from 154 balls during India’s tour of England in 2014.
Rahane, took command of the team a few days after the embarrassing defeat in the first match of the series at Adelaide Oval
He is being praised in the cricket world for the way he used his bowlers and decorated the fielders in Melbourne.
