Former Indian cricketer Ramesh Powar has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian Women’s team again.
The Board for Control of Cricket in India had made an official announcement today. Powar in his second stint as national women’s coach had replaced WV Raman.
“The three-member Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sulakshana Naik, Madan Lal, and Rudra Pratap Singh [junior] interviewed the applicants and unanimously agreed on Powar’s candidature,” said a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) statement.
There were in total 35 applocation in front of the BCCI for the post.
Before this Powar served as the coach of the Indian women’s team between July-November 2018.
India reached the semi-finals of the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup in 2018 and they also won 14 games in a row.
