Ranji Trophy 2022-23: In Jharkhand’s inaugural Ranji Trophy 2022–23 match against Kerala, Ishan Kishan continued his blistering form by striking a superb century. Five days after making the quickest-ever ODI double hundred in the third ODI against Bangladesh, Kishan scored his sixth first-class century in a Ranji Trophy encounter.

At number six and with the score at 114/4, Kishan batted aggressively in keeping with his style and caused trouble for the Kerala bowlers. Kishan and Saurabh Tiwary collaborated to stabilise Jharkhand’s innings when it appeared to be in jeopardy.
Jharkhand passed the 300-run mark thanks to a partnership of nearly 200 runs between Kishan and Tiwary for the fifth wicket. Kishan, who the Kerala bowlers struggled to stop, was a major factor in the double-hundred partnership.
Saxena bowled for Kerala with an amazing 5/75. At the JSCA International Stadium, Kerala was 60/1 with a 195-run edge overall, and it looked like the game would end in a draw.

With a score of 87 for three to begin the day, Jharkhand lost skipper Virat Singh (30) after only 27 more runs. The first two sessions of batting required Kishan and Tiwary to fend off Saxena and Thampi’s onslaught.
Jharkhand was forced to declare their first innings in 105.3 overs after Saxena quickly removed Tiwary and Kishan on his way to a five-wicket haul. This caused the collapse.
Ishan Kishan earlier scored the fastest double hundred in ODIs by scoring 210 against Bangadesh on third and final ODI on 10th of December.
