Left Arm Spinner Kartikeya Singh, led the way for Madhya Pradesh with a 10-wicket haul
On the second day of the Ranji Trophy match at Indore, left-arm spinner Kumar Kartikeya Singh’s 10-wicket haul enabled Madhya Pradesh defeat Chandigarh by an innings and 125 runs.
Worst ever defeat for Chandigarh in a Ranji Trophy Match
The loss was Chandigarh’s worst ever in a Ranji Trophy game. Chandigarh boys were shot out for 57 runs while chasing total of 309 runs scored by Madhya Pradesh. Thereafter Chandigarh scored 127 runs after being forced to follow on before getting out.

Rajat Patidar continued with his role as batting mainstay for the team by scoring 88 runs off 116 balls
The Madhya Pradesh boys had added 20 runs to their overnight total of 289/7 to reach the total of 309 runs. Rajat Patidar, who scored 88 runs off 116 balls, continued to be the team’s batting mainstay. Meanwhile, Sandeep Sharma picked up two wickets for the bowling side, bringing his spell total to 7/93. The Chandigarh lads responded, but their performance was lacking. For 57 runs, the entire team was bowled out. At the team’s total of 19 runs, the top and middle order of Arjit Singh (1), skipper Manan Vohra (0), Ankit Kaushik (1), Gaurav Puri (0), and Bhagmender Lather (4) were all out.
Kartikeya increased the chaos by dismissing Hartejassvi, Gurind Singh, Rohit Danda, and Kunal Mahajan (0). Arslan Khan led the team in scoring with 34 off 58 balls. Kartikeya continued to be the inning’s star with claiming 6/20.
The batters from Chandigarh were forced to follow on and were swept out for 127 runs after failing to read the bowling attack once more.

At the team’s final score of four runs, Khan (0), Arjit (4), captain Vohra (2), and Lather (0) returned to the pavilion. For the fifth wicket, Kaushik and Puri put up a 64-run partnership. Kartikeya, though, was successful for Puri (20 off 39 balls). Kunal Mahajan’s (7) and Gurinder’s (10) inability to produce a reliable innings prevented Kaushik from having another extended partnership. Kaushik ‘s wicket was claimed by Saransh Jain (69 off 121 balls). Dhanda was unable to open his account, while Sharma added nine runs. Kartikeya (4/44) and Jain (5/37) each shared the most wickets in the innings.
