Previously former India opener and domestic veteran Wasim Jaffer said that Vijay Hazare, Duleep and Deodhar Trophy should be canceled this season in view of COVID-19 pandemic and instead Use of that time should be held in Ranji Trophy. But now the BCCI has decided that only the Vijay Hazare Trophy will be held in this season.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has written in his letter to the state associations that the decision has been taken due to the feedback received from the state associations and the corona virus.
Talking to PTI on this issue, Shah said, “I am very happy to inform that this time we are going for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Under-19 Veenu Mankad Trophy as well as the Senior Women’s ODI Tournament ”Shah said.
During this time that it is very difficult to organize the long format Ranji Trophy in the Corona era. He also said that so far our time has been wasted due to Corona epidemic.
The International Series will be played in India for the first time in February amid the threat of Corona virus. The first match of the 4-Test series between India and England will be played in Chennai on 5 February. At the same time, the BCCI has successfully organized the domestic tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali.
