RCB vs DC WPL 2023: The second match of the tournament between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals (RCB vs DC WPL 2023) is currently underway at the Brabourne Stadium. Smriti Mandhana won the toss and chose to bowl first but the decision backfired as the opponents smashed 223 runs in 20 overs. However, it was Heather Knight who prevented from the total going above par with two wickets in one over.
Heather Knight picks two in three balls
Delhi Capitals’ opener Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning smashed boundaries all around the park and lit up the stadium with their runfeast. At one moment, it appeared that both of them would score a century as they had already scored 153 runs in 14 overs. However, just after the strategic timeout when the players came back to the crease, Heather Knight changed the game. She dismissed both the set batters within three balls.
On the first two balls of the over, Lanning smashed two boundaries and a wide also came upon. However, on the third ball, Knight bowled out skipper Meg Lanning and gave RCB the first and crucial breakthrough. Lanning scored 72 off 43 balls and hit 14 boundaries in her knock. Then, on the fifth ball, Knight dismissed Shafali Verma as she was caught out by Richa Ghosh. Shafali scored 84 off 45 balls and hit 10 boundaries along with four sixes.
