RCB vs GG WPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore have defeated Gujarat Giants in a must-win encounter with eight wickets and 27 balls to spare. Chasing a mammoth total of 189, RCB got off to a blistering start as they managed to score 100/0 in just 8 overs. The match turned out to be a complete run-fest as Sophie Devine hit a magnificent 36-ball 99, missing out on a well-deserving century by just one run.

Coming to chase, Sophie Devine began charging on all the bowlers. Just on the second over off Gardener, she smashed 24 runs. Her incredible 99-run knock became the sole highlight of the match as every bowler perished under her assault as she hit nine boundaries and eight sixes. Skipper and opener Smriti Mandhana also got going and scored 37 off 31, ensuring a bright start for the team.
Ellyse Perry scored 19 off 12 and Heather Knight scored 22 off 15, taking the team to a comfortable win, and boosting the run rate. Sneh Rana and Kim Garth picked a wicket each.

Earlier, Gujarat Giants won the toss and opt to bat first. They put on a total of 188 runs in 20 overs. Opener Wolvaardt scored 68 off 42, Gardner scored 41 off 26, while Meghana scored 31 off 32 balls. Cameos by Harleen Deol (12* off 5) and Hemalatha (16* off 6) ensured in their team reaching to a good score. The first match on doubleheader Saturday was a low-scoring one between Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz while the second one proved to be a complete opposite.
