RCB vs LSG IPL 2023: During Monday’s IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow, Ravi Bishnoi claimed the wicket of Virat Kohli, restricting him to a score of 31. This dismissal prevented Kohli from reaching the milestone of 7000 runs in the Indian Premier League.
Ravi Bishnoi clinches Kohli’s wicket
Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli provided their team with a solid start, accumulating 62 runs for the opening partnership in the IPL match. However, Ravi Bishnoi turned the game around for his side with a crucial wicket.
Bishnoi displayed exceptional skill by deceiving Virat Kohli with a well-executed googly, resulting in him getting stumped. The delivery, a googly outside off, spun back to beat the inside edge. Kohli attempted to advance down the ground but missed the ball, leading to him being stumped by Nicholas Pooran after scoring 31 runs. Interestingly, this was the first time he had been stumped in the league since 2014, as highlighted by the commentators.
It was evident that Kohli wasn’t at his best on this occasion, taking 30 balls to accumulate his runs. His strike rate remained low at 103.33, and he managed to hit just three boundaries throughout his innings. Kohli now has 6988 runs in IPL, just 12 runs short of the milestone. He will become the first batter to do so.
