RCB vs MI IPL 2023: Rohit Sharma achieved a significant milestone in his successful cricket career while stepping on the field for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday in Bengaluru. He became the second Indian captain, after MS Dhoni, to lead in 200 T20 matches.
What did Rohit Sharma say?
In the list of most T20 captaincies, Dhoni and Darren Sammy hold the top two spots with 307 and 208 matches, respectively, while Rohit is in third place. In the IPL, Rohit has played in 143 games, which is the second highest, and has won the tournament five times. Speaking on his achievement, Rohit Sharma said at the toss, “Exciting, I am really honored and grateful as well. It’s been a long journey and it’s something I will cherish. Look forward.”
The star batter is on the verge of achieving another significant milestone in his already impressive career. The captain of the Indian cricket team is just 121 runs away from becoming the third player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to score 6000 runs. Only Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan have accomplished this feat so far, while David Warner is ahead of the star batsman with 5881 runs in the IPL.
