RCB vs MI WPL 2023: At their final match of the group stage, Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets. Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bowl first. Smriti Mandhana-led side failed to register a big score and managed to put 125 runs on board. Mumbai Indians chased down the target within just 16.3 overs, making it an easy win.

Easy chase for Mumbai Indians
In the chase, Mumbai Indians started well and lost the first wicket at the last ball of the powerplay. Hayley Matthews scored 24 off 17, Yastika scored 30 off 26 balls whereas captain Harmanpreet Kaur was bowled out by Ellyse Perry for just 2 runs off 4 balls. Pooja Vastrakar scored 19 off 18 while Amelia Kerr scored 27 off 24 . Meghan Schutt, Shreyanka, Ellyse Perry, Asha Shobana grabbed a wicket each in the inning while Kanika grabbed a couple of them
They have reclaimed the table topper spot, however, it still remains unclear whether they have qualified for the finale directly as Delhi Capitals are yet to play their last match. Meanwhile, this was RCB’s sixth loss in the tournament after having two back-to-back wins.
RCB’s batting unit fails yet again
Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to field first in the game. RCB didn’t have a good start as they lost opener Sophie Devine (0 off 2) just on the third ball. Skipper & opener Smriti Mandhan scored 24 off 25 balls, however, the regular fall of wickets kept the scorecard struggling. Heather Knight and Kanika Ahuja both scored 12 off 13 balls each.
Ellyse Perry ultimately took the charge and scored 29 runs off 38 balls whereas Richa Ghosh played a quick-fire knock in the end scoring 29 runs off 13 balls. Amelia Kerr picked a three-wicket haul while Sciver Brunt and Wong grabbed a couple of wickets each and Ishaque claimed one as well.
