Rohan Jaitley elected as DDCA unopposed President

Rohan Jaitley, son of the late former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, has been elected unopposed chairman of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). He will continue in this position till 30 June 2021. Elections for the remaining five office bearers will be held on November 5,6 and 8 and results will be declared on November 9.

Rohan was supported by the rest of the DDCA factions. This is the reason, he was elected unopposed DDCA President.

Significantly, the post of the chairman of DDCA was vacant since November last year. Rajat Sharma resigned from the post of president due to internal factionalism. He was elected with an overwhelming majority in June-July 2018.

After the nomination, Rohan said, “I would like to work for the betterment of Delhi cricket and would like to do the same to everyone.” Rohan, a lawyer by profession, said, “I have no problem with the match. This is good for the democratic process.

Rohan Jaitley had the support of two big groups of DDCA (Vinod Tihara Group and CK Khanna Group).

There will be a contest between Shashi Khanna, wife of former BCCI president CK Khanna and Uncle Pawan Gulati of Gautam Gambhir, for the post of treasurer in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) elections which will be held from November 5 to 8.
