Heated exchange during SA vs ENG 2nd ODI
The incident occurred during South Africa’s chase when Buttler became frustrated with van der Dussen’s blocking of a catch attempt. An incident between Jos Buttler and Rassie van der Dussen caused a stir during the innings. The exchange was caught on video and has since gone viral on social media. During Adil Rashid’s over, Van der Dussen inside-edged the ball onto his pad and into the air, blocking Buttler’s attempt at a catch.
The conversation between the two was partly caught by the stump mic, with Van der Dussen saying something inaudible followed by their exchange being picked up. “What’s your problem Rassie? It’s not all about you all the time.” To which Dussen replied: “No, it’s about you.”
Buttler continued further by saying, “I’m allowed to try and catch the ball.” “What do you want me to do?” After which umpire had to intervene. The umpires stopped both the players by saying, “Okay, calm down !”

In the IPL 2022, Buttler and van der Dussen significantly played for the Rajasthan Royals. Before the IPL 2023 mini-auction, the franchise released the South African player.
