From the trademark goal with Jordi Alba cutting in to deliver a perfect cross or his last-minute free kick that saved the match. It was everything that you wanted from the Argentine.
Miami fans are getting the happiest version of Messi in a very long time, which is unfair. The match went into the penalty shoot-out, and by this time, the World Cup winner had mastered the art of winning those.
A Sensational Match
This match was like a perfectly scripted movie you had to watch live. It had everything you want from a Messi match. Apart from the world-class World Cup winner, the match was a roller coaster.
The Argentine gave Miami the lead in just the sixth minute from a brilliant assist by Jordi Alba. But after that, FC Dallas made a sensational comeback and took a 3-1 lead by the 63rd minute, and it looked grim for Miami.
Jordi Alba delivered a perfect cutback again, this time to Benjamin Cremaschi, and the score was 3-2. Then an own goal by Robert Taylor took place, and the match was once again out of reach for Miami.
But Lionel Messi had other plans. A brilliant cross from a free kick in the 80th minute led to an own goal by Marco Farfan and the score of 4-3. Then the perfect free kick in the 85th scored 4-4.
Miami won the penalty shoot-out with a score line of 3-5. Miami is in the quarterfinals and can lift the cup if Messi remains in this form.

It is so soon to see stats, but Messi has already broken some records for Miami already. He scored within 10 minutes of every Inter-Miami game he started. He is already the top scorer for the club, only playing three full games, and the season started six months ago.
The Copa America winner has been Man Of The Match in all four matches for the American club. He already has seven goals and one assist for the club, which is just pure madness.
