Shashi Tharoor: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor praised Virat Kohli on Sunday after his game-winning knock gave India a thrilling victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.
On social media, Mr. Tharoor revealed that he purposefully missed his flight out of Goa in order to watch the India-Pakistan match. “After addressing a conference of Catholic universities in Goa this morning I declined the scheduled flight which would have meant missing the #indvspakmatch entirely. Even though the next flight is only at 9.55 pm I was thrilled to see one of the great matches of this tournament,” Mr Tharoor tweeted.
He tweeted again, this time addressing Kohli: “And this man is both genius & authetic hero! Utterly awesome @imVkohli.”
The internet could not comprehend how Mr. Tharoor, who is renowned for his skill with words, could make a mistake. “Sir, please give the meaning of ‘authetic’ I am unable to find it,” one person tweeted. “Tharoor misspelled ‘authentic’,” tweeted another.

In the midst of the chaos around Mr. Tharoor’s error, one user defended him by pointing out that “authetic” is a real term and made sense in the context in which the Congressman had used it. Mr. Tharoor confirmed that it was a typo, nevertheless.
“Thanks for coming to the rescue, @perthinent, but it was, alas, a typo!” Tharoor wrote.
One user tweeted, “If Shashi Tharoor is making spelling mistakes what hope is there for the rest of us,” in response to Mr. Tharoor’s message, which was received with surprise. Naturally, Team India once more depended on Kohli’s valour to defeat Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. On October 27, they will play their following game.
