Shivam Mavi speaks on his six-hitting ability

Mavi has frequently displayed his versatility in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Following his innings on Thursday, a video of him discussing his hitting is currently gaining popularity. Mavi said in a video posted on BCCI.tv that over the last two years, he had focused on improving his batting during practise sessions.

In the video, Mavi can be heard saying “I am working on my batting more in the last two years. You must have seen me hit a few sixes in the nets. My fielding was good, as was my bowling so batting was something I worked on. It felt good.”

Mavi struggled to connect in his first five balls on Thursday as he needed some time to get going. He then proceeded to score a four off the final ball of the 17th over before concluding the following over by hitting two sixes with a four in between. The contest had already lost India’s control when Mavi eventually fell off the penultimate ball.
