Ind vs SL Asia Cup 2023: The second Super 4 match of India was an intense one. A low-scoring thriller that saw both teams grinding it out till the last second of the match. It won’t be wrong to say that Sri Lanka gave India a very tough competition.
While many fans enjoyed the match, a few of the fans were astonished and blamed India for fixing the match. These fans were asking how India could score 350 against the prime pace bowling of Pakistan yet struggle to even touch 200 against Sri Lanka.
Many Pakistan fans even claimed that India was losing intentionally so Pakistan will be knocked out. The rumors and memes reached former Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar and he bashed everyone who created these memes.
‘Utter Nonsense
The Rawalpindi Express went to his YouTube channel and bashed the fans who sent him these kinds of memes. He marked every rumor as absolute nonsense and praised India for the inspired bowling performance.
“I’m baffled by the messages I’m receiving suggesting India ‘fixed’ the game to knock Pakistan out of the tournament. “They’ve been giving it their all! Wellalage, in particular, gave an exceptional performance, even scoring 43 runs. Suddenly, I’m receiving calls about India intentionally losing to exclude Pakistan. Why would they do that when a win would get them to the final – which it did? It’s Absolute nonsense.”

Dunith Wellalage was the man of the match as he took 5 wickets and even scored 42* runs. It was an inspired performance by Sri Lanka that stated that they are ready for future challenges.
A slobber knocker of a match that could have gone anyway. The Indian team had to dig deep to get the victory in this one.
