Shubman Gill was under a lot of scrutiny on Saturday when various reports came out stating a ‘disciplinary’ issue against him. It was reported that Gill and Avesh Khan would return to India because of certain disciplinary issues and won’t travel to Carribean with the rest of the squad.
Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, Rinku Singh, and Khaleel Ahmed were chosen as the traveling reserves for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. However several reports came out that Gill and Avesh won’t be part of the squad after the group stage.
The rumors were fired up when it was reported that Gill had unfollowed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma from Instagram. The rumors of indiscipline were squashed by Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour on Sunday.
And after that, Gill himself has squashed the rumors of any ill feeling between him and the Indian skipper. But the way Gill has decided to squash the rumor is hilarious and has shut down all the reporters who were going on with this fake report.
‘Learning The Art Of Discipline’
On Sunday, Gill uploaded a story on Instagram with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and his daughter Sammy. The duo was sharing a heartfelt moment and were happy together.
But it was the caption that has won everyone’s heart. The text on the picture read ‘Sammy and I learning the art of discipline from Rohit Sharma.’ It was a perfect reply to all the trollers and fake reports.
It turned out that Gill and Rohit never followed each other on Instagram and the reports of him unfollowing the skipper were completely false. It looks like things are completely fine between the duo and we will see them in action together very soon.
Shubman Gill Return To India
While the rumors of indiscipline and foul relations are false, the report of Gill and Avesh returning to India is true. But the reason is far more simple. Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour clarified that ICT management had already decided that they would send two players back after the USA leg in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. And the coaching staff is just following the orders.
