SRH vs LSG IPL 2023: In a roller-coaster beginning to their match against the Lucknow Super Giants, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team amassed 56 runs in the powerplay but also lost two wickets in the process, having chosen to bat first. The majority of the scoring was spearheaded by Rahul Tripathi, whose explosive cameo of 20 runs off 13 deliveries featured four boundaries, two of which were struck against the formidable Avesh Khan in the fifth over of the innings.
Rahul Tripathi pulls off a crazy shot
Tripathi kicked off the encounter with a stylish boundary, driving the first ball to the covers. This immediately put Avesh Khan, the bowler, under pressure. However, Tripathi had even grander aspirations and was determined to execute them. Anticipating another delivery pitched outside off, he started shifting and shuffling away from the stumps before the ball was even released, aiming to scoop it behind the wicket. Sensing the movement, Avesh decided to change his strategy and followed Tripathi with a wide delivery away from the stumps.
Caught off guard by the impressive improvisation, Rahul found himself in an awkward position with limited options. Nevertheless, displaying remarkable ingenuity, the seasoned batsman adjusted his plan. Instead of persisting with his original intention, Tripathi patiently awaited the arrival of the slower ball and skillfully guided it between the wicket-keeper and the fielder positioned at short third-man, resulting in another boundary.
