Sundar Pichai: The India-Pakistan blockbuster played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) has astonished the whole cricketing community. In the thrilling T20 World Cup opening on Sunday, India defeated Pakistan on the last ball thanks to an astounding effort by former India captain Virat Kohli.
Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and an enthusiastic cricket fan, stated that he celebrated Diwali by rewatching the last three overs.
Taking to twitter, he wrote “Happy Diwali! Hope everyone celebrating has a great time with your friends and family. I celebrated by watching the last three overs again today, what a game and performance #Diwali #TeamIndia #T20WC2022.”
Pichai also responded to a troll with humour who requested him to watch the first three overs of India’s innings, which included the loss of skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. To which, he replied: “Did that too, what a spell from Bhuvi and Arshdeep.”
Pakistan was given the opportunity to play first, but India put them under a lot of strain by dismissing captain Babar Azam and star batsman Mohammad Rizwan in the first four overs. However, Iftikar Ahmed (51) and Shan Masood (52) both contributed a 50 to help them to a respectable total.
India’s chase was derailed early on because to a combination of excellent bowling, subpar strokes, and bad running decisions. Before Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya miraculously revived India’s hope with an incredible 113-run stand for the fifth wicket, India had once fallen to 31-4.
