T20 World Cup 2022: As a result of a 10-wicket loss to England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 semifinals, Team India’s participation in the competition came to an end. The Indian team had a stellar Super-12 performance as they finished top in the standings with 8 points after winning four of their five games in this round. Nevertheless, Team India lost its chance to compete for the championship in the knockout stage.
The Indian squad selecteed several players with the capacity to win matches during this T20 World Cup being played in Australia, but they were unable to make an impression. In such a scenario, it is anticipated that these four Team India T20 players’ T20 careers is almost ended with the tournament.
1. Mohammad Shami
There will now be very little chances of Shami’s return to the T20 format. Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement, Mohammed Shami, was chosen for the T20 World Cup team.In regards to Shami, the club management had also made it plain that they did not have any plans for him in the shorter forms, but Bumrah’s injury offered him a chance.
Shami was able to take only 3 wickets in the five matches he played for India in the T20 World Cup.
2. Dinesh Karthik
Karthik was included in the team for the role of Finisher, but he fell short of expectations. In four games of the T20 World Cup, Karthik managed to score only 14 runs. In addition, he said that this World Cup will be his final one. Karthik may be able to soon bid T20 cricket farewell in such a scenario.
Karthik has played for 60 games in T20Is for team India, in which he scored 686 runs.
3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, an accomplished fast bowler for Team India, can also make a T20 format retirement announcement. Since Bhuvneshwar has only played for Team India in the short format, the T20 World Cup hasn’t been particularly memorable for him in recent years. He was able to take just four wickets.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has a total of 89 wickets to his name after participating in 85 T20 International games for the Indian team. Due to this circumstance, it is now believed that Bhuvi will retire after this T20 World Cup.
4. Ravichandran Ashwin
Ashwin was chosen by the team management for the T20 World Cup squad, and he had the opportunity to participate in every game up until the semifinals, in addition to the league stage. His contribution to the team, however, was completely ineffective. In 65 games for Team India, Ashwin has taken 72 wickets. In this tournament, he took 6 wickets in 6 matches.
