Grand Welcome for Team India

The victorious cricket team returned to India on Thursday morning, arriving in New Delhi from Barbados on a specially-arranged charter flight. Victory Parade Details

The victory bus parade is scheduled to take place between 5 pm and 7 pm, starting from Nariman Point and concluding at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The team will participate in an open bus road show, allowing fans to celebrate their triumph up close. Following the parade, a felicitation ceremony will be held at the Wankhede Stadium.

Tight Security Measures

Given the expected large turnout, Mumbai Police have deployed adequate security along Marine Drive between Nariman Point and Wankhede Stadium. An official stated that utmost precaution is being taken to avoid any untoward incidents during the celebration. The police have urged fans to assemble on the promenade side and not on the road to ensure smooth proceedings.

Traffic Advisory

To avoid traffic congestion, Mumbai Police have advised people to use public transport. DCP Zone 1 Pravin Munde stated, “If you want to attend the procession, kindly reach before 4:30 pm and assemble on the promenade side.” This advisory aims to manage the large crowd and keep traffic disruptions to a minimum.

Felicitation Ceremony at Wankhede Stadium

After the victory parade, the BCCI will host a prize distribution ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium. BCCI secretary Jay Shah will present the prize money of Rs 125 crore to Rohit Sharma and his team. This ceremony marks the end of India’s 17-year wait for a second T20 World Cup title, adding to the celebratory mood.
