IPL 2023: The first match of the highly anticipated IPL 2023 is now just a couple of days away. MS Dhoni-led CSK will clash against the defending champions Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya. CSK skipper MS Dhoni has been practising in the nets from the first session and his images and videos have regularly gone viral since then. One more video has now become viral in which the veteran batter can be seen doing a humble gesture towards the fans seated in the stadium.
MS Dhoni’s gesture goes viral
The veteran keeper-batter has started his tournament preparations by training with the CSK team. As the team practised in Chepauk, Dhoni was greeted enthusiastically by Chennai fans. On social media, a video of Dhoni’s supporters applauding him as he stepped out to bat has gone viral. As the fans continued to chant Dhoni’s name, he gestured folding hands towards them, as a gesture of appreciation.
Earlier, in the last season, Dhoni had spoken that he wants to play in front of the Chennai crowd before taking retirement. The veteran batter is now 41-years old and is rumoured to take retirement post this year. It is likely that all-rounder Ben Stokes will take on the reins from thereon and lead CSK in the upcoming editions.

CSK had a mediocre season in 2022, ending in the last spot in the standings after winning only four of their 14 league matches. On Friday, March 31, the season’s first match will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between the Chennai Super Kings and the defending champions Gujarat Titians (GT).
