Asia Cup 2023: We all know that the hype around the India vs Pakistan match was unreal. When BCCI General Secretary Jay Shah revealed that the match set a new streaming record with Disney+ Hotstar, it was evident.

But a new stat has been revealed by Star Sports that showed that the match set a new record viewership for Star Sports as well. Before this, the World Championship Final of 2023 was the record holder.

It just shows that if the final was between India and Pakistan, new viewership records would have been settled. But the record set by the Super 4 match is nothing to frown about either.

Viewership Record Broken

According to various sources, Asia Cup 2023 was very profitable for Star Sports. The first 7 matches of the tournament saw the ratings reach growth of 25% and 34% respectively. These numbers are staggering.

On the other hand, the IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match also saw a spike in rating. It has become the highest-rated India vs Pakistan ODI match with a 6.3 TV Rating. The last record was a 5.2 rating.

In terms of viewership, this match also broke every record. India Vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s recorded a peak viewership of 4 crore on Star Sports. The WTC 2023 final had 12.4 crore total viewers in 5 days and 2.4 crore peak viewership.

Asia Cup 2023 Setting Records

Jay Shah tweeted right after the match that the Super 4 match registered 2.8 crore viewers on Hotstar. Which was a new record and the previous best was India vs New Zealand ICC ODI World Cup 2019 semi-final with 2.52 crore users.

Considering that we still have the 14th October clash between India and Pakistan, we might see staggering numbers once again.
