Uncertainty looms over Asia Cup 2023 venue as Pakistan loses hosting rights, Bitter dispute between PCB and BCCI

Asia Cup 2023: Before to the 2023 World Cup, Pakistan will host the Asia Cup. The fact that Pakistan would be hosting the Asia Cup this time was not revealed until after the Asia Cup 2022. Since then, there has been a bitter dispute between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) (PCB). At the same time, reports are surfacing that Pakistan’s right to host the Asia Cup has been taken away. Nevertheless, no formal information has been released.

Asia Cup games can be held in either Qatar or the United Arab Emirates

News about the Asia Cup’s hosting is being reported by the news agency PTI, and it is almost certain that Pakistan has lost the right to host the event. We are not, however, confirming any of this. But news is now surfacing that, if Pakistan loses the right to host, all of the 2023 Asia Cup games can be held in either Qatar or the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Pressure strategy adopted by the PCB

A BCCI source commented on Pakistan’s hosting of the 2023 Asia Cup to PTI, saying, “We realise that this is a form of pressure strategy adopted by the PCB because of the Asia Cup issue. But let me tell you that someday the Asia Cup will also be held in the United Arab Emirates or Qatar, and Pakistan will probably also be required to play its matches in one of these nations.”
