UPT20 League: It looks like Uttar Pradesh is ready to take over the T20 local league. Local T20 Leagues are riding high right now and Uttar Pradesh is ready to jump into the mixup with their own T20 League.
UPT20 League is all set to start from August 30 and it looks like the most star-struck local T20 league. Names like Suresh Raina, Rinku Singh, Bhuvenshwar Kumar, and many more joined with it.
There will be six teams in the first season of the league and it might increase next year. The teams are based in six cities of the state. The jersey launch happened yesterday and it looked like a brilliant league.
Big Stars In Mix Up
Suresh Raina will be the brand ambassador of the UPT20 League. While every team has reserved two-star players, other players will be selected on the basis of their merits. The selection procedure was explained by Ex BCCI Chairman Rajiv Shukla.
Bhuvenshwar Kumar and Nitish Rana will be part of the Noida Super Kings while Rinku Singh and Kartik Tyagi will play for Meerut Mavericks. Priyam Garg and Yash Dayal will be the star players for Lucknow Falcons.
Rising star Dhruv Jurel and Mohsin Khan will be in Gorakhpur Lions while Akshdeep Nath and Ankit Rajpoot will be part of Kanpur Superstars. The tournament is getting organized by UP Cricket Association.
Players On Basis Of Merit
During the launch ceremony, Rajiv Shukla stated that every player will be selected on the basis of performance and merit. There will be no special preference to anyone and no politics will be involved.
This league is trying to provide exposure to the young players from Uttar Pradesh as they will play between International level players or against them.
