During the chase of a target of 160 runs set by UP Warriorz, England’s Sophie Ecclestone appealed for an LBW against Hayley Matthews, the West Indies all-rounder and MI Women opener, during the fifth over. Despite the on-field umpire Paschim Pathak giving it not out, the decision was reviewed and subsequently given out by the third umpire, causing uproar and drama on the field.
Hayley Matthews was unable to believe that she has been dismissed. Thus, she took the review again. That was it, two reviews were taken on a single ball. However, this time the umpire saw it from another angle and ultraedge and finally concluded that it was not out. It was a truly surprising and unexpected turn of events that left everyone in disbelief. However, she was finally dismissed in the eight over by Ecclestone herself for a score of 12 runs off 17 balls.
