UPW vs RCB WPL 2023: After losing all their first five matches in the Women’s Premier League, it appears that RCB is finally looking for a turnaround. Royal Challengers Bangalore is currently clashing against the UP Warriorz at the DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai. Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opt to bowl first and her bowlers have not disappointed so far. Within just two overs, they sent three batters back to the pavilion at a score of 5 runs.
Sophie Devine and Schutt’s fiery start
After opting to bowl first, Sophie Devine was given the charge of leading the bowling attack and she did that on a perfect note. On just the second ball of the inning, she dismissed opener Devika Vaidya for a duck on her first ball through an LBW. Then, just on the fifth ball, she also dismissed skipper and opener Allyssa Healy, who was out with a score of just 1 runs off 3 balls. Ultimately, UP Warriorz were left with a score of 1/2 after the first over.
Just in the second over, Meghan Schutt was asked to deliver and she did the same as well. On the last ball of the over, she grabbed the wicket of Tahila McGrath, who was caught out by Richa Ghosh. This was surely a dreamstart for RCB, who have lost all their matches in the tournament so far, particularly due to their bowling. Later, Asha Shobana also picked the wicket of Kiran Navgire who was showing resistance as she scored 22 off 26 balls. Leaving the team with a score of 29/4 in 6.2 overs.
