US Open 2022: World No.1 Iga Swiatek defeated 6th seed Aryna Sabalenka 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in semi–final. She won the three setter to storm into her maiden US Open 2022 final on Thursday (September 8). Swiatek lost control of the match at the start but then made a spectacular comeback to beat Sabalenka 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. With this win, Swiatek has reached the final of a Grand Slam for the second time this year. She will face 5th seed Ons Jabeur in the final on September 10 at Meadows. After losing her first set, Swiatek took 2 hours and 11 minutes to win the next set as Sabalenka was full of enthusiasm during the match. It was very difficult for Swiatek to defeat them but in the end they won the match.

The second set win filled Swiatek with confidence and he made a spectacular comeback to win the third set to win the match. With this win, Swiatek took the lead that Sabalenka had taken last year. But this year Swiatek has won every match played with Sabalenka this year. For Sabalenka, losing the US Open semi-finals is her third loss this year.
Third Set was Very Difficult
At the start of the match, Swiatek tried to build up the pressure with a 1-0 lead but Sabalenka came back 2-1 to win the first set. Sabalenka began to put pressure on Swiatek as the match progressed, but could not keep that pressure for long, and after losing the second set, the match went to Swiatek. However, the competition in the third seat seemed quite difficult as the match was turning sometimes towards Sabalenka and sometimes towards Swiatek, but still in the end Swiatek won the match and confirmed his ticket to the final of his third Grand Slam of this year took.
