Finch remained unbeaten throughout the match, but unfortunately, his team couldn’t secure a victory. The victory was snatched from the experienced Australian’s grasp by Yusuf Pathan, who played an aggressive batting.
During a match in the US Masters T10 League, the California Knights set a target of 116 runs for 3 wickets in their innings. In response, the New Jersey Tritons successfully reached the target in 9.4 overs, with 2 balls to spare. Yusuf Pathan played a pivotal role, scoring 35 runs off 11 balls and earning the title of the player of the match.
Aaran Finch goes berserk in US T10 League
Earlier, skipper Aaron Finch opened the innings for California Knights. He showed an impressive performance, remaining unbeaten while amassing 75 runs from just 31 balls. His strike rate soared to 242, and during his innings, Finch managed to strike 3 fours and 8 sixes. A notable highlight came in the 9th over when Finch faced the fast bowler Chris Barnwell. In a remarkable display, he struck Barnwell for 5 consecutive sixes. To break it down, Finch dispatched the first ball over long on, followed by shots to wide long on, square leg, long on, and long off on the subsequent deliveries. This string of hits raised hopes that Finch might even achieve a record of hitting 6 consecutive sixes.
After dispatching 5 consecutive sixes off the first 5 balls, Chris Barnwell intentionally bowled the sixth delivery wide, and for the final ball, he aimed it wide on the off side. Aaron Finch managed to add just one run to his score from this last ball. Consequently, the over yielded a total of 32 runs. Milind Kumar was another contributor with the bat, scoring 27 runs off 14 balls. However, Irfan Pathan was dismissed after scoring one run from 3 deliveries. In response, the New Jersey team, led by Jesse Ryder and Naman Ojha, began their innings with a spirited start. Pathan showed a remarkable performance, amassing 35 runs from just 11 balls, boasting an impressive strike rate of 318. During his innings, he struck 2 fours and 4 sixes, signifying that 32 of his runs came solely from boundary shots. Meanwhile, Chris Barnwell remained undefeated after contributing 12 runs off 6 balls to the team’s total.
