Video: In a shocking turn of events, a Twenty-three-year-old kickboxer collapsed after being punched inside the ring and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Bengaluru. The kickboxer who has been identified as Nikhil is a resident of Mysuru.

What Happened?
The K1 Association of Karnataka had organised a kickboxing tournament. (On the 9th and 10th of July) and Nikhil was further competing in that. When he was competing in the ring around, then at around 6 pm on July 10, Nikhil collapsed after his opponent punched him in the face. As he was unconscious, the organisers rushed him to a private hospital. They called Nikhil’s mother and informed him about the incident. Later, Nikhil’s coach Vikram came to the hospital to find that he was put on a ventilator in the ICU.

A matter of sheer Negligence?
Nikhil’s father told the police that his son died only because of negligence. The organiser and K1 Indian head coach Navin Ravishankar are the one responsible. His father also added that his son went into a coma after he suffered a head injury. He also added that the organisers informed him that the sponge mat put on the ring’s floor was very thin. And it was The negligence and lack of first aid treatment that led to the unfortunate death of this rising star. The absence of paramedical assistance, oxygen cylinders and an ambulance is what proves that this is a sheer case of negligence.
