Vinesh Phogat has landed in Delhi and she received a deserving hero’s welcome upon her landing. A huge gathering of fans alongside her fans was at the airport to receive the Indian wrestler.
It has been some tough weeks for Vinesh. She was on her way to make history and could have done that very well. If not for measly 100 grams to come in her way and ruin her dreams forever at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The Indian wrestler has announced her retirement from wrestling as CAS has denied her appeal. The decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sports dismissed her petition for a joint silver medal.
Vinesh Phogat Returns!
Phogat made a promise to herself that she would only return to India once the CAS hearing was concluded. As her dreams were crushed she made arrangements to return to the country with a broken heart.
Bajrang Punia made a post on the internet stating that Vinesh will land in Delhi on August 17th. He further said that she would get a hero’s welcome and posted a picture of the roadmap of her route to her village.

The 29-year-old wrestler received a huge welcome as she landed in Delhi. She was surrounded by fans and friends. Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik were amongst the friends who received Vinesh at IGI airport.
Fans cheered her name and bestowed her with garlands. Seeing so much love, Phogat was not able to control her tears as she broke down in front of everyone. Sakshi tried to console her, but even she broke down a little bit.
It is an emotional moment for Phogat and her family. She will rest now and a few days down the road will think about her retirement and continuing the fight.
