In the same instance, Shane Watson once played a brave knock that is etched forever in every cricket fan’s heart. In the IPL 2019 final, the Australian star played the valiant knock of 80 runs, but with a bleeding knee and stitches in hand.

As per the reports, 6 stitches were tucked on his knee later in the treatment. The injury which he got in the same match was so severe that blood was spotted coming out of his jersey clearer. Actually, Batting first Mumbai Indians posted 149 runs on the board, giving CSK a target of 150 runs to clinch the trophy.
Replying to which, CSK got off to bad start as players fell like a pack of cards. At one moment, CSK was 82/4 in 12.3 overs and all main batters such as Faf, MS Dhoni, Raina, and Bravo were out. That is when the opener Shane took the matter in his hands and continued to hammer throughout the innings despite all the pain and blood.
Shane Watson batted till the end and was the lone player who set hopes high for CSK fans. Watson had smashed 80 runs off 59 balls with eight boundaries and four maximums. However, in the fourth ball of the last over he was runout and with him, the hopes of CSK fans also got shattered.

Chennai Super Kings required 9 off 3 balls and Shane Watson was then runout by Krunal Pandya and Quinton De Kock. Eventually, they could not score 9 off 2 and lost the match by just one run. Mumbai Indians then won the trophy for the fourth time.
