Tanvir’s historic performance in IPL
With his unconventional wrong-footed action, the bowler started his spell in style, dismissing Parthiv Patel leg before wicket with an impressive inswinger. Stephen Fleming, the former New Zealand captain and current coach of the Chennai Super Kings, was also caught in the same way in the very first over of the match.
He got his third wicket in the second over when he got Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan to edge the ball to Shane Warne at the second slip. The bowler had asserted himself in this game after a stellar start in match in his first two overs in which he took three wickets and conceded only two runs.
Albie Morkel was dismissed after the bowler, who had returned for his spell during the match’s last overs, displayed his brilliance by getting rid of him after the batsman missed a huge shot. He next dismissed Muttiah Muralitharan in the same over with a slower ball, continuing his stellar performance. In the ast bowel of the spell he uprooted the stumps of Ntini.
