Sehwag’s blistering ton against CSK
Despite finishing on top of the table, Punjab faced a challenging match against Chennai. The anticipation was high for a “Maxwell Show” after Punjab was put in to bat. However, it was Sehwag, who had not played for India in over a year and had a mediocre IPL season scoring just 316 runs in 16 games, that took the crowd by surprise. Although he had a few starts earlier in the season, Sehwag’s lightning-fast reflexes were did not anything very special that year. Many assumed that he would only score a few boundaries and set up the match for Maxwell to take over. But Sehwag had other ideas.
The veteran batsman showed his class and skill, putting on a vintage display of his renowned talent. He blazed his way to an unbeaten 122 from just 58 balls, leading Punjab to a commanding total of 226. Chennai struggled to keep up, and the total proved too daunting to chase.
This memorable innings marked Sehwag’s century and left everyone in awe. Even though he was left out of the Indian squads for upcoming tours, Sehwag’s performance showedthat his talent was still very much alive. The once-famed batsman had managed to steal the limelight from Maxwell and give the crowd a taste of his histrionics from years past.
