The best catch of the year
The Kings scored a total of 143 after captain Pollard chose to field first after winning the toss. During this inning, Pollard made a catch that might end up being remembered as the best catch of the year worldwide. Alzarri Joseph attempted a wild slog of Jayden Seales’ bowling during the 20th over of the innings, and it appeared as though the ball was going to clear the boundary line for a maximum.

Pollard’s incredible athleticism
Pollard, however, had other ideas, and he successfully pulled off one of his signature special catches to prevent the ball from going over the boundary. The veteran cricketer quickly lifted the ball over himself so he wouldn’t lose his balance by using his tall frame to get a hand on the ball. Pollard displayed incredible athleticism by coming to in time to catch the ball before it hit the ground.
Video went viral
Cricket fans are in awe of how Pollard was able to complete the catch as the video of his incredible catch has gone viral on social media. The former West Indies captain’s effort enabled his team to win by a slim margin of three wickets, giving them a winning start to the competition. With only four remaining balls, the three-time champions took the third wicket. Pollard only managed to score 17 runs in 15 balls, so he did not have much of an impact with the bat. With a score of 58 in 45 balls, Tim Webster was the highlight for the Knight Riders. The Pollard-led team got off to a strong start with the ball earlier thanks to Akeal Hossain’s four-wicket haul, during which he allowed just 13 runs to be scored.
