Viral Video: Last month, England and Pakistan played in the T20 World Cup final, with Pakistan suffering a five-wicket loss. The team, which had made it to the final in somewhat dramatic fashion, overcame defeats to Zimbabwe and India in the group stage and had a remarkable result go in their favour when Netherlands defeated South Africa to guarantee Pakistan’s simple advancement to the semifinals. However, in the championship match, Pakistan suffered a setback due to Shaheen Afridi’s knee injury, which prevented him from completing his four-over quota in the run-chase.

The team was down one run
The team led by Babar Azam had lost its opening match against India and then suffered a shocking 1-run loss to Zimbabwe in the following match. Despite being set a modest 130-run target, Pakistan’s batting order collapsed, and the team fell short by one run. When Shan Masood and Shadab Khan joined the team, Pakistan was in trouble at 36/3 in the eighth over. The pair had put up a 52-run partnership for the fourth wicket, and it appeared that Pakistan would win the match.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa made a light-hearted remark to Shadab Khan
After hitting a six against Sikander Raza, Shadab attempted an explosive shot, but he failed and gave away his wicket, leading to a batting collapse. Shaheen Afridi was run out on the very last ball of the game, limiting the team to 129/8 in 20 overs. The Pakistani players gathered for an event hosted by the PCB more than a month after the game to discuss their various national team experiences. General Qamar Javed Bajwa, a retired Pakistani army officer who was present at the event, made a light-hearted remark to Shadab Khan about the match against Zimbabwe.
Shadab replied in a funny way
“T20 ke lihaaz se Shadab is very good, he’s a complete all-rounder. Lekin Zimbabwe ka match bhi inhone harwaaya hai. Chhakka maarne ke baad agle ball pe hit maara (Shadab is very skilled in T20s. However, he also cost us the game against Zimbabwe! After making a six, he attempted a second hit.),” Bajwa said, prompting laughter from the audience.
Shadab responded to Bajwa by mentioning Pakistan coach Saqlain Mushtaq’s “Kudrat ka Nizaam” remark. “Kudrat ka nizaam hai, main out hua toh final me pohoche (It was nature’s will! We made it to the final because I was eliminated!)” Shadab made a funny comment.
