Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli joined bio-bubble here on Thursday ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) starting on April 9. Kohli, who was part of the India-England series, does not need to pass the necessary quarantine period.
RCB tweeted, ‘If you think that we have brought an earthquake on the Internet for today, then think again. Captain Virat Kohli has arrived in Chennai.’
Earlier today, South African star batsman AB de Villiers also reached Chennai. De Villiers has been playing for RCB since 2011 and he is an important player in this team.
RCB tweeted, ‘The superman has arrived. AB de Villiers has joined RCB’s bio bubble in Chennai.’
Significantly, RCB’s team under Kohli’s captaincy will face defending champions Mumbai Indians on 9 April in the first match of IPL 2021.
Kohli will have to remain in isolation for a week. Only then will he go into the bio bubble. Earlier, Kohli took a break from the bio bubble after the end of the England series. Kohli reached his home in Mumbai after the series ended. RCB captain Virat Kohli shared a photo on Instagram, in which he is sitting in the balcony of his flat. He wrote that there is nothing like home.
