Virat Kohli – Ishan Kishan: Team India was anxious to increase their lead versus Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday after scoring a commanding 67-run victory in the first One-Day International of the three-match series on Tuesday (January 10) in Guwahati. The continuing 50-over mission was no match for the Men in Blue, who triumphed by four wickets to establish a dominating 2-0 lead. KL Rahul stole the show, leading India to win with a high score of 64 runs, unbroken, off 103 balls.

For the second One-Day International between India and Sri Lanka, the famous Eden Gardens venue in Kolkata was filled to capacity, and spectators excitedly anticipated another Virat Kohli batting exhibition. Unfortunately, the star batter was struck out for just four runs on nine balls, so it was not to be. After scoring two straight ODI hundreds, Kohli had been in excellent form, but at the Eden, he was unable to display his customary brilliant strokeplay for the cricket-crazy crowd.
However, Virat Kohli made sure that his adoring audience wouldn’t leave the magnificent location without anything to remember him by. He and Ishan Kishan dazzled the crowd with their spectacular dance moves after India won the second game. The two were spotted completing a series of complex sequences in front of the audience, drawing loud applause. Netizens too have filled comment section with their praise referring to them as real entertainers.

Ishan has been benched in both of India’s games so far in the series, whereas Virat has played for India in both of the matches. Ishan created history in his final ODI appearance for India against Bangladesh on December 10, 2022, becoming the quickest and youngest batsman to achieve a double century in ODIs. Despite this, he was still left out of the starting XI, with Shubman Gill coming back into the lineup in his stead.
Shubman performed above expectations, scoring 21 off 12 balls in the second game after hammering 70 runs from 60 balls in the first game of the series. His outstanding performance set the tone for the remainder of the series and showcased his talent as a fierce batsman. On January 15 at Thiruvananthapuram, the third and final One-Day International (ODI) between India and Sri Lanka will take place.
