Virat Kohli: The star Indian batsman is one of the fittest athletes on the planet. The way he has maintained his body even at the age of 34 is commendable and inspirational. There are very few other athletes on his level of fitness at the moment.

India adopted the Yo-Yo challenge back in 2017 and since then it has become the standard for measuring the fitness of a player. This test is also one of the major reasons for improved fitness in the Indian cricket team.

Many big name players like Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh and many more have failed to pass this Yo-Yo test in the past. But not Virat Kohli, he has always crushed this test. He once again posted a story on Instagram sharing his test result and the Internet went in a melt down.

Virat Kohli Crushes The Test

The former Indian skipper shared a picture on Instagram after completing his Yo-Yo test. This test is compulsory for every player in the team. And Virat Kohli was delighted after shattering the test.

The former World No.1 batsman shared a picture stating how thrilled and excited he was. The world was shocked when he revealed that he broke all the records with a time trial of 17.2, a marvellous achievement.

“The happiness of finishing the yo-yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done.” Kohli wrote on the story.

What Is Yo-Yo Test?

The Yo-Yo test is a aerobic fitness test where the player have to run between two cones that are set 20 meters apart. That is the exact length of the cricket pitch. The players have to complete a shuttle before the third beep.

With every level the intensity increases and player have to complete extra shuttle in those three beeps. The test starts at Level 5 and goes all the way upto 23. The Benchmark for India is 16.1 whereas New Zealand has the highest benchmark level set at 20.1.
