Virat Kohli: India and Pakistan competed in a match yesterday as part of the T20 World Cup 2022 that is taking place in Australia. India chose to bowl after winning the toss in this intense game. After which, the Pakistani squad then fetched a score of 159 while batting. India responded by winning the game on the very last ball. The key to India’s success was Virat Kohli’s 82-run performance. Haris Rauf bowled the crucial 19th over.
After losing the first three wickets in this India-Pakistan encounter, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya took over the batting. In 53 balls, Kohli scored 83 runs. During this innings, he also smashed 6 fours and 4 sixes. It appeared like India would lose the game after Haris Rauf’s 19th over, in which not much occurred on the first four deliveries, but Virat Kohli struck two consecutive sixes on the penultimate delivery, surprising everyone and Pakistan.
At the same time, Virat Kohli broke down in tears after the game and thanked the supporters. He also remarked that “till today Mohali was my best innings against Australia. Today I will count this one higher. Hardik kept pushing me. The crowd has been phenomenal. You guys (fans) kept backing me and I am grateful for your support.” In recognition of his outstanding performance in this game, Kohli was also named Man of the Match.
