In Kohlapur, Maharashtra fans of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma got into a scuffle. After this incident, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag pitched in through his tweet and has appealed them not to quarrel with each other.
Rohit and Dhoni’s fans took to the streets in jest with posters of their respective heroes. Rohit’s fans were celebrating him being selected for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and on the other side, Dhoni’s fans were protesting against it because they didn’t like the celebration amid the MS Dhoni’s retirement.
According to a report by a TV channel, some few of them tore the posters of Rohit Sharma, then fans of both the cricketers quarraled which included the violence as well.
Virendra Sehwag has appealed to all the fans to maintain peace on this incident. Sehwag said on Twitter, “What do you do crazy. Players like each other very much or do not talk much, just keep working, but some fans are crazy of different levels. Do not quarrel Remember Team India as a team.”
Rohit started his international cricket career under Dhoni’s captaincy. Rohit had recently paid tribute to Dhoni on the completion of his brilliant career of 15 years.
