Australian star opener David Warner and former Australian legend Michael Slater have denied the reports of getting involved in an altercation inside a bar in the Maldives. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Warner and commentator Slater are staying along with the other teammates in the Maldives before going back to their home soil due to the travel ban from India citing COVID concerns.
The former former Australian opener is reported ot have sent a text to senior journalist Phil Rothfield and said that the rumours are false.
“There is absolutely nothing to the rumour mill Buzz. Davie and I are great mates and absolutely zero chance of (having) a fight,” foxsports.com.au quoted Slater as saying in a text message.
“I don’t know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence you can’t write anything. Nothing happened,” Warner added.
The fourteenth season of the Indian Premier League was postponed with the rising cases of COVID-19 in teams bio-bubble. Many countries imposed the travel ban from India and players are finding various routes to move back to their nations.
The safety of every individual in the IPL was one of the reasons for the BCCI and IPL Governing Council to decide the postponement of the league.
