Asia Cup 2023: Roger Binny and Rajiv Shukla have returned to India after their friendly visit to Pakistan during the ongoing continental tournament. The duo were invited by the Pakistan Cricket Board to watch the Asia Cup matches.
It was the first time in 17 years that any BCCI office bearers have visited Pakistan. Vice President Rajiv Shukla stated that cricket can be the bridge between the two countries that are separated by political tensions.
The duo has returned to India via the Attari-Wagah border and were really happy with their visit. Roger Binny could not stop praising the PCB and stated that he as an amazing time in the neighboring country.
“Treated Like Kings”
“We had a very good meeting in Pakistan. We received very good hospitality. They took care of us very well. The main agenda was to watch cricket and to sit and discuss things with them. Overall, it was a very good trip,” Binny stated.
He further added that “Pakistan treated us very well, they went out of the way to make us comfortable.” Later, Binny was asked about the possibility of a bilateral series between India and Pakistan.
“BCCI can’t say. It is a government issue, and they will have to take a call. We need to wait and see. And hopefully, it will happen because the ODI World Cup 2023 is coming up and the Pakistan team will be in India to play.”
Asia Cup 2023 Clash
India and Pakistan will face each other on 10 September in the Super 4 round match. Babar Azam is confident ahead of the clash and has promised to give his 100 percent. Meanwhile, India will be looking for ways to tackle the pace trio of Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
