Wimbledon 2023: Carlos Alcaraz does not care about sounding humble at Wimbledon 2023. And it is not arrogance just his confidence and his belief in his ability that allows him to speak like it.

The World No.1 reached the fourth round of the tournament after defeating Nicolas Jarry with a 6-3,6-7,6-3,7-5 victory. Even though it was quite a hustle, the 20-year-old showed his ability to be the world’s no.1.

On the other hand, World No.2 Novak Djokovic defeated Stan Wawrinka in straight sets to book his place in the fourth round as well. And the dream match of the top two rankers just sparkled in the eyes of fans.

No Doubts In His Head

When Alcaraz was asked about him being the face of the tournament at just 20 years of age, the Spaniard replied confidently.

“Well, I’m not surprised, honestly, ’cause I know my skills. I know what I’m capable of.” Alcaraz replied with utmost confidence. But it looks like both top world seeders are going to face the toughest competition in the fourth round.

Alcaraz will play against Wimbledon 2021 runner-up Matteo Bererrini. Djokovic is set to play against world no.17 Hubert Hurkacz. Both of these might be the toughest challenge in front of the top 2 till finals.

A Match Fans Want To See At Wimbledon 2023

When asked about him eventually facing Djokovic in the finals, Alcaraz stated that it is his dream. He further stated that this is the match that the fans want to see. And it is not only limited to tennis fans but the general fans will be excited as well.

In their two head-to-head matches both Djokovic and Alcaraz have registered 1 win each. Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in Madrid Open last year with Djokovic returning the favor in the French Open semi-final last month.
