Wimbledon 2023: Former Tennis legends Roger Federer and Andy Roddick went on a fun banter on Twitter and it was such a high time. The banter was related to the instance when Federer forgot his Wimbledon membership card last year.

Roger Federer made a surprise visit to Wimbledon last year but the security guard denied him entry. The security member was doing her job and the former Swiss international had forgotten his membership card.

In the end, Federer was denied entry and had to leave empty-handed from the venue. But the 20-time Grand Slam winner made sure to carry his ID card this time. He even tagged Wimbledon’s official account stating the same.

I Remembered It This Time

Roger Federer posted a picture on his Twitter account with his membership card and tagged the Wimbledon account. He captioned the post with “I remembered it this time.” The Wimbledon account also took part in the banter by replying to the post.

While reminiscing about the incident last summer Federer stated that “I was like, ‘I’m just asking you again where can I get in,’ and she said, ‘The other side, but you have to be a member.’ I look at her one last time and I’m so sorry, I couldn’t believe and still can’t believe I said this and because I still feel bad about it. I’d look at her and say, ‘I have won this tournament eight times. Please, believe me, I am a member!”

They Should Have Let You In

Former tennis legend Andy Roddick also took part in the banter and replied to the post made by Federer. The reply read ‘I still say they shouldn’t let you in” jokingly. Many fans also took part in the banter stating that Federer was distracting everyone as no one was watching the game of Wimbledon 2023 once he entered the ground.
