Women’s Asia Cup 2022 Final: At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Team Sri Lanka has won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the final game. Team India will look forward to reassert its dominance and win an astounding seventh title. India’s depth was highlighted by the competition, as the younger generation of athletes carried the team to the championship game without any assistance from captain Harmanpreet Kaur or her deputy Smriti Mandhana.
The impact of the Indian team was so great that Harmanpreet only played four matches (for 81 runs) and faced a total of 72 balls. But four years prior, in Malaysia, Bangladesh upset the favourites in the finals match. India will look forward to march on their seventh cup this year.
After beating Pakistan, the Lankan women captured the attention of cricket fans around the world with a celebratory dance video that has since gone viral. However, defeating Harmanpreet’s team on Saturday would be the cherry on top given that its men’s team had already won the Asia Cup a month earlier. Sri Lanka has played four finals during the deacde of 2000s, against India only, but the latter won all four of them.
