Women’s Asia Cup 2022: After three wins in the Women Asia Cup, India women have faced their first defeat from Pakistan. Indian batters were unable to score the target of 138 as they fell short by 13 runs. During the chase, onluy Richa Ghosh appeared to be real in form as she scored 26 off 13 balls. Following her was Hemalatha who managed to score 20 off 22 balls. Smriti Mandhana scored 17 off 19 balls. The match took place at Sylhett Stadium, Bangladesh.
Pakistan’s Nida Dar bowled four overs and took two wickets while shelling 23 runs. While, Sadia Iqbal gave 24 runs while picking up two wickets in her spell. Nashra Sandhu took three wickets in her four over spell while giving away just 30 runs.

After winning the toss and opting to field, Pakistan Women put a total of 137 with loss of 6 wickets on board. The highest run-getter was Nida Dar who scored 56 off 36 balls. Following her was the skipper Maroof who scored 32 off 36 balls. For India, Deepti Sharma gave 27 runs in her four over spell while taking 3 wickets. Pooja Vastrakar bowled 4 overs and took 2 wickets while shelling just 23 runs. It would be interesting to see how Indian team fairs up in the chase.
This is India’s first defeat in four matches. Meanwhile, both the teams now have equal points as both have won three matches so far.
